Kevin De Bruyne hits four goals in Manchester City’s win against Wolves

Manchester City had a fantastic night at the Molineux stadium as they regained their three points gap ahead of Liverpool in the title race with a 5-1 beating of Wolves.

Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne scored four on the night to intensify their advantage at the top of the table for the title race.

Liverpool had beaten Aston Villa 2-1 on Tuesday to draw level on 86 points each before City’s travel to Wolves on Wednesday.

Kevin De Bruyne scored in the 7th minute to give Manchester City the lead, but Wolves equalised four minutes later through Leon Dendoncker.

He added one more In the sixteenth minute while he made it 3-1 in the 24th minute as Manchester City went into the break comfortable. The Belgian midfielder scored his fourth of the game on the hour mark, while Raheem Sterling scored a fifth with six minutes left.

Manchester City now has 89 points from 36 games, three more than their competitor Liverpool. Their next stop is at West Ham at the weekend before their end of the season clash with Aston Villa at Etihad, where they could lift the Premier League title if they match Liverpool’s last two results.

Pep Guardiola spoke of the team’s target, which he explained as the need to win their next two matches.

“The target is the next game. If we win the next two games, we will be champions. Now recover the players and play a final. The final for us is against West Ham.” Guardiola said.

Meanwhile, in other Premier League games on Wednesday, Chelsea beat Leeds United 3-0 with Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, and Romelu Lukaku on the scoresheet.

The loss tosses Leeds into the relegation waters with 34 points in 18 position, just below Burnley on goals difference. The Clarets have played a game less.

Jamy Vardy scored twice, and James Maddison added another as Leicester beat Norwich 3-0. Watford and Everton also played a 0-0 draw.
