Kobbie Mainoo Sidelined as Manchester United Battles Injury Crisis

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo will be out for a few weeks after sustaining a muscle injury during a match against Aston Villa earlier this month, the club confirmed on Thursday. Mainoo’s absence adds to United’s growing injury concerns, as the team continues to struggle in the Premier League.

Mainoo, who has been sidelined since the incident, also missed England’s Nations League fixtures against Greece and Finland due to the injury. In addition, teammate Harry Maguire is facing a similar timeline for recovery after picking up an injury during the same 0-0 draw against Villa. Maguire’s injury forced him to miss England’s recent international matches.

Despite these setbacks, Manchester United received some positive news with the return of forwards Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo to training. Both players had been absent from international duty this month—Garnacho due to injury and Diallo due to illness—but are expected to be available for Saturday’s Premier League home clash against Brentford.

Morocco defender Noussair Mazraoui has also returned to training after being substituted at Villa due to illness, providing a further boost to the squad ahead of the crucial match.

However, United’s injury woes continue, with several key players still out of action. Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, and youngster Leny Yoro remain sidelined, leaving manager Erik ten Hag with limited options as the team struggles to find form. United currently sits 14th in the league standings, having collected only eight points from their first seven matches.

The ongoing injury crisis has contributed to the club’s inconsistent performances this season, with hopes pinned on the return of key players to help revive their campaign. With a busy fixture list ahead, United will need all the reinforcements they can get as they look to climb the Premier League table and avoid further setbacks.
