Lazio interested in Musah and Gimenez; Amorim wants Estupinan to stay

Lazio are monitoring the situation of AC Milan pair Yunus Musah and Santiago Gimenez after they were reportedly placed on the transfer window.

Tuttosport quoted MilanNews.it as saying that the pair remain on the Biancocelesti’s radar as they weigh up additions for this summer. 

As Lazio keep tabs on the duo, their situations are ones to watch as the window develops, having been earmarked for a possible exit at Milan, making them realistic targets. It is now left for Lazio to firm up their interest and decide whether they will want to remain in Serie A.

According to reports, Musah and Gimenez await clarity on Milan futures after the club’s first friendly of the summer, a 2-2 draw with Celtic that hinted at the work still ahead in pre-season.

Ruben Amorim’s men began sluggishly and had to cancel a two-goal deficit after some loose defensive play, before a much-improved second-half showing.

Their continued presence on the fringes only sharpens the sense that movement could follow as Milan appear content to let both situations play out,  with Lazio watching closely.

As the situation stands, the coming weeks may determine whether one or both are still at San Siro when the Serie A campaign gets underway.

In a related development, Amorim has reportedly told Milan to hold off on the transfer of Pervis Estupinan, who has been heavily linked with joining Aston Villa.

According to the latest updates in Italy, Amorim wants to take a closer look at the left-back before sanctioning a transfer away from the club. 

Estupinan had spent just a season with the Rossoneri, having joined last summer in a deal that cost around €19m with bonuses included.

Amorim, noting this, wants the left back to stay and still see if he will produce a convincing performance at least for another season under him.

He ended his first season with Milan with 19 league appearances, and he is behind 20-year-old Davide Bartesaghi in the left-back pecking order. 

Amorim will want to have a solid backup at least, should Bartesaghi drop form or sustain an injury.

Recent reports claim that he could soon be on his way back to the Premier League to join Aston Villa, who already sold left-back Lucas Digne to Paris Saint-Germain.
