Bayern Munich firmly reject Michael Olise to Real Madrid links

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has once again dismissed persistent rumours linking star winger Michael Olise with a summer move to Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old Frenchman has been one of the standout performers in European football following a remarkable 2025-26 campaign under Vincent Kompany.

Olise recorded an impressive 48 goal involvements across all competitions last season, with 22 goals and 26 assists.

This tally was surpassed only by Harry Kane’s 68 in Europe’s top five leagues. Additionally, the winger created 123 chances, second only to Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (142), highlighting his creative influence and drawing significant transfer interest.

Real Madrid, who endured a second consecutive season without major silverware and recently welcomed Jose Mourinho back as manager, were heavily linked with a potential blockbuster deal for Olise.

However, Los Blancos issued a statement denying any contact with Bayern over the player. Freund has consistently reinforced the club’s position that Olise is not for sale.

Speaking after Bayern’s pre-season friendly against third-tier Wehen Wiesbaden, the sporting director stated that they were delighted Michael Olise had returned from his holiday.

He added that the player would continue to play an important role at Bayern Munich this season, just like last year.

Olise’s domestic form was exceptional, ending the Bundesliga season with 15 goals and 19 assists   A new record for a winger in the German top flight in 2004-05.

He then shone internationally, registering seven assists for France during their run to the World Cup semifinals, the highest by any player in a single tournament since records began in 1966.

With his future now seemingly settled at the Allianz Arena, Bayern fans will be hoping the dynamic attacker can build on his breakout season and help the club challenge on all fronts in the upcoming campaign.
