Lionel Messi denies Inter Milan link, tags it fake news

Barcelona skipper Lionel Messi has denied rumours and reports linking him to Italian side Inter Milan on Thursday. The Argentine took to Instagram to deny the reports tagging them as fake news.

Such reports also reported that he might join Newell old boys in his native Argentina.

A Twitter post by TNT sports had linked the Barcelona player with a return back to his Newell old boys or to Inter Milan as well as suggestions that he paid for Ronaldinho’s bail out of a Paraguay prison.

Ronaldinho was found in possession of a fake passport alongside his brother, and both of them were placed in prison. He was released earlier this week but still placed under house arrest.

Messi uploaded a post on his Instagram handle with a screenshot of the tweet and wrote on the post by Tnt sports. “lie number one” and “lie number two.”

“What they said in this same media about Newell’s a few weeks ago was also false. Thank goodness that nobody believes them.” Messi was quoted by Sky Sports.

The FIFA U20 world cup winner in Holland 2005 has been frustrated by various news spreading around about his future at the Camp Nou.

This has been fueled by his row with the club’s hierarchy recently, but reports from British and Spanish media have indicated that the player will likely be with Barcelona till his current contract runs out in 2021.

Contract extension talks have been barred by the current Coronavirus pandemic, which has also scuttled the finances and activities of the club.

One such includes the pay cut of 70 percent, which Lionel Messi and his teammates took last month in order to help the club achieve financial stability.

Lionel Messi has played all his career at Barcelona and has won everything available with the Catalunya club.
