Lewandowski continues red-hot form in the Bundesliga

Bayern Munich striker continues his goal-scoring streak since the start of the campaign, and since then, he hasn’t removed the foot off the pedal.

His latest goal was on the Oktoberfest festival against Köln making it nine goals so far for the 31- year old Polish skipper.

After he scored in the 4-0 win over Köln last weekend, he said. ” I’m delighted to have scored those goals. But I’m even happier we played really well and did everything we planned”.

In regards to all these, the striker continued to extend his impressive statistics in his 250th appearance for Bayern Munich. Lewandowski is the first Bayern since Carsten Jancker in 2000 to score in all of the early five match days.

A further look at this, nine goals in five matches has only been accomplished once before in the 57 years of the Bundesliga, and that was by Peter Meyer of Borussia M’gladbach in 1967. Overall, Robert Lewandowski has found the net in seven competitive matches on the bounce to equal his record set in 2012/13 season.

The Pole has now scored seven goals for FC Bayern against Köln and has now overtaken the chairman of the club Karl Heinz Rummenigge and club President Uli Höeness. Only Gerd Müller [14] and Roland Wohlfarth [9] have scored more often for Bayern against the team from Cologne in the top flight.

Lewandowski has now scored 11 times against Köln, and that makes them the tenth team the striker has scored ten goals against.

With 211 goals in total, the league’s top goalscorer for the past three seasons is now fifth in the list of all-time Bundesliga goal scorers, and is two behind the recently late Manfred Burgsmüller [213], and nine behind his former coach Jupp Heynckes [220].

Robert Lewandowski has now scored 202 goals for the club ranking him third behind Rummenigge [217] and Gerd Müller [508].

Bayern’s next game is away to Paderborn in the Bundesliga. Lewandowski will hope to add to his tally again.

Bayern Munich are priced at 3.20 win the double (dfb-Pokal & Bundesliga) in 2019/20, while the possibility of it not happening is still available at 1.30
