Liverpool outclass West Ham in 5-0 win

Liverpool stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points with a resounding 5-0 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium. The Reds’ impressive performance was capped off by goals from Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Diogo Jota.

Liverpool dominated the match from the start, with Diaz opening the scoring on the half-hour mark with a powerful finish. Gakpo then doubled the lead 10 minutes later, thanks to a brilliant assist from Salah. The Egyptian star got on the scoresheet himself just before halftime, netting his 20th goal of the season.

The second half saw Liverpool continue to assert their dominance, with Alexander-Arnold adding the fourth goal in the 54th minute. Substitute Diogo Jota sealed the win six minutes from time, thanks to another impressive assist from Salah. The victory marked Liverpool’s second consecutive big win in London, following their 6-3 triumph over Tottenham last week.

West Ham, on the other hand, were thoroughly outclassed and struggled to create any meaningful scoring opportunities. Mohammed Kudus came closest to scoring for the Hammers, hitting the woodwork twice, but it was a bleak day for Julen Lopetegui’s side. The defeat leaves West Ham in 13th place, nine points clear of the relegation zone.

Liverpool’s impressive form has them looking unstoppable, with their psychological dominance over opponents evident in their performances. The Reds’ lead at the top of the table now stands at eight points, and it will take a significant effort from their rivals to catch them.

The win marked another milestone for Liverpool manager Arne Slot, who is making a strong case for the Premier League title in his first season at Anfield. With their next match scheduled for the new year, Liverpool will be looking to maintain their momentum and continue their march towards the title.
