“Manchester City means so much to me,” – Guardiola signs extension

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola signed a two-year contract extension at the club, which was announced on Thursday. He revealed that he hopes to win more titles and trophies with the club.

Pep Guardiola was rumored to be ready to exit Etihad Stadium if Manchester City’s 115-count charge ends in banishment from the Premier League, but he continues to defend the club, which suggests that he will stick with the club through thick and thin.

“This is my ninth season here. We have experienced so many amazing times together. I have a really special feeling for this football club. I have said this many times before, but I have everything a manager could ever wish for, and I appreciate that so much. Hopefully, we can add more trophies to the ones we have already won. That will be my focus.” Guardiola said.

The new contract will see Pep stay at the club till 2027, which will make it eleven years that would have been spent at the Manchester club, which he joined in 2016. However, he didn’t reveal whether it would be the last extension he would sign at the club, although he stated that every time he signs an extension at the club, it feels like the last one.

Since then, he has helped Manchester City win six Premier League titles and eighteen trophies in total. The 58-year-old has also achieved a treble at the club, winning the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, and the FA Cup.

His other achievements include helping the club to a 100-point tally in the league and winning the Premier League in four consecutive seasons. Jurgen Klopp’s exit from Anfield in the summer leaves Pep Guardiola as the longest-serving manager in the Premier League.

Manchester City will face Tottenham over the weekend in their next Premier League fixture since the international break as they hope to reduce Liverpool’s five-point lead at the top.
