Las Vegas GP Preview

This weekend, Formula 1 will return, and this time around, it’s back in the United States for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Perhaps the biggest sports event of last year, the Las Vegas GP, is shaping out to be even bigger this year.

Part of the success of last year’s GP was that no amount was spared to bring the vision to life, and it all paid off in the end. This year, the organizers are also planning to deliver the best racing experience on earth as much as possible.

The Las Vegas GP is the third to the last race of the season, and, compared to last year’s, the race is very important this time around as it could be the decider on who wins this year’s World Championship and Constructor title.

Max Verstappen can rack up enough points this weekend to be crowned champion and win his fourth world championship, but this is only if he wins the race or does not lose more than two points to Lando Norris, whose rivalry with him has been the major highlight of this season.

Norris’s title dreams are not over, but his chances are slimmer now and would depend on Verstappen making mistakes of epic proportions, not only in Las Vegas, for Norris to win the race. Still, he still cannot be counted out at this point.

McLaren currently leads the Constructors’ standings and are set to win the title this year. The combination of Norris and Oscar Piastri has proved very impressive for the team this season, with both drivers delivering excellent results that helped push their team forward.

Verstappen being the only one delivering points for Red Bull in months now means the team has lagged behind and is currently number three on the standings, meaning their hope of winning the constructors title for the third year in a row has since been dashed. This is why a Verstappen victory is important to them, as it guarantees they won’t end the season without a title.

Ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, other teams to watch out for include Ferrari and Mercedes, although the result of the last race where the two Alpine drivers both made the podium means anything is possible at this stage.
