Suns Secure Dillon Brooks With Three-Year Contract Extension Through 2030

The Phoenix Suns have strengthened their long-term plans by agreeing to a three-year contract extension with forward Dillon Brooks, keeping the veteran with the franchise through the 2029-30 NBA season.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the new deal ensures Brooks remains a key part of Phoenix’s core after an impressive first season with the team.

Brooks, a nine-year NBA veteran, joined the Suns during the 2025-26 campaign following a two-year stint with the Houston Rockets. He had entered the final year of the four-year, $86 million contract he signed with Houston in 2023, but Phoenix has now moved quickly to secure his services beyond the existing agreement.

The extension continues a busy offseason for the Suns, who have focused on retaining and strengthening the nucleus of last season’s squad. Alongside Brooks’ new deal, the franchise has committed to long-term contracts for guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin, as well as center Mark Williams.

Phoenix has also reshaped its roster through the trade market, acquiring forward Miles Bridges in a deal that saw Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale move to the Charlotte franchise.

Brooks emerged as one of the Suns’ standout performers during the 2025-26 season, playing a pivotal role in the team’s transition following the departure of Kevin Durant. He appeared in 56 games and averaged a career-best 20.2 points per game, establishing himself as one of the franchise’s leading contributors on both ends of the floor.

His performances helped guide Phoenix back to the NBA playoffs after the team missed out on postseason action the previous year. The Suns secured the eighth seed, marking a successful return to the playoffs during a season of significant change.

However, their postseason campaign proved short-lived as they were swept in the opening round by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Despite the early playoff exit, Phoenix’s decision to extend Brooks reflects the organization’s confidence in his importance to the team’s future. With much of last season’s core now under long-term contracts and key additions made during the offseason, the Suns have signaled their intention to build around the group that helped steer the franchise into a new era.
