Italy coach Roberto Mancini congratulated his players for their performance in the 4-1 win over Turkiye.
Mancini, in his second stint with the squad, sent a message via Instagram, showing some of the Azzurri’s best plays in Bursa.
Italy secured Mancini’s first win on his return against Vincenzo Montella’s side away on Monday night, bouncing back after a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Belgium just three days earlier.
The refreshed Azzurri got the job done in their second Nations League game to move into third in Group A, while France sits top after winning their first two games.
The tactician praised his players in his post-match interviews on Monday, then repeated the sentiment with a special message on social media.
Mancini, in his video showing some of Italy’s best plays against Turkiye, added a five-word Italian message which translates to: “Congratulations, guys, you deserve it! Well done.”
Italy will complete the three-week international break with a visit to Paris to play against the group leaders at the Stade de France on October 5.
France tops Group A with six points after victory against Turkey and Belgium.
Belgium and Italy share the second and third spot as Turkey are rooted to the bottom of the table with no points after two games.
Meanwhile, Giacomo Raspadori has been released from the Italy squad due to injury.
The striker will therefore miss both remaining Nations League fixtures as he returns to Atalanta to begin his recovery program.
Tuttosport reported that FIGC confirmed Tuesday evening that the Atalanta forward was released after undergoing instrumental tests and is unavailable for the coming matches.
Raspadori was initially rested as the rest of the group returned to work at Coverciano following the overnight flight back from Turkiye, where the Azzurri won 4-1.
He is now expected to continue his recovery and return to club action.
