Müller clarifies future, says he wants to keep playing in top tier football

Thomas Muller says he is in no rush to decide his playing future following his imminent departure from Bayern Munich.

Thomas Muller hinted he wants to continue his career elsewhere, after playing his final Bundesliga match for Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Muller, who confirmed last month he would leave Bayern at the end of the season, started their 4-0 win over Hoffenheim, and received a huge ovation when he was replaced by Harry Kane just after the hour mark at PreZero Arena.

Since his debut for the club in 2008, Muller scored 150 goals and provided 211 assists in Bundesliga, while winning a record 13 titles and racking up 503 appearances.

The 35-year-old will feature for Bayern in the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States, before making any decision on his playing future.

Speaking in an interview Müller revealed he will take his time without stress  as he wants to keep playing football

For today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, I know exactly what I’m planning. After that, it’s still up in the air.”

Muller has reportedly received offers from several Major League Soccer clubs, with rumours suggesting he may join Bayern’s partner club, Los Angeles FC.

He recently became just the 13th player to cross 500 appearances for a single Bundesliga club, and the fourth to do so with all outings at a single club.

Karl-Heinz Korbel (602 games for Eintracht Frankfurt), Manfred Kaltz (581 for Hamburg) and Michael Lameck (518 for Bochum) are the only other one-club men to hit that mark.

With yet another successful season in the Bundelisga, the Bavarians will look back and see how far they have come with some positives and hopefully build ahead of the coming season.
