Napoli and Victor Osimhen have turned down the opening Al-Hilal offer.

Reports in Italy say both the club and player are demanding for money. On the part of the club, they want the full €75m release clause to be fulfilled, while the striker reportedly rejected a €26m per-season salary.

According to Football Italia, Al-Hilal were making a strong bid to sign the Nigeria international, including a phone call from new coach Simone Inzaghi.

The opening proposal was reportedly €65m plus bonuses, while Sky Sport Italia, Fabrizio Romano, and others reported that adamant Napoli rejected it outright.

It’s a known fact that the striker has a €75m release clause in his contract, and the Partonopei want that respected.

Apart from the clause situation, the other problem for Al-Hilal will be how to have personal terms sorted with Osimhen.

As the €26m per season salary, plus bonuses, is considered insufficient for him to join the Saudi Pro League, the form lille striker who will return to his parent club from Galatasaray wants it to be for an eye-watering sum of money.

With such conditions, Juventus have withdrawn their interest in Osimhen following the departure of director Cristiano Giuntoli, while Premier League sides Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are all looking towards other targets first.

In a related development,  Galatasaray have made an offer to make the Osimhen loan move a permanent one.

According to Sky Sports Deutschland, the proposal is worth €15m per season wages, plus a transfer fee of €65m. Those are likely to be rejected by both parties.

With the Galatasaray deal seemingly out of the way, or seems the Saudi club are the only one that can meet up with the demands of the club and player.

They are expected to make another bid, which could be an improvement from what they already offered in a matter of days.
