Napoli have reached an agreement on personal terms with Dutch international Noa Lang, as Sevilla are keen on Giovanni Simeone.
With this latest development, Lang is likely to join the Partenopei from PSV in the summer transfer window.
According to reports in the Netherlands, Noah Lang is expected to undergo his medicals as Napoli hopes to finalize an agreement with PSV in the coming days.
Antonio Conte is keen on reinforcement as the defense of their Scudetto will begin in August.
Napoli are reportedly prepared to offer about €25m plus some add-ons, while PSV are requesting a fee of around 30m, which leaves just a small bridge to the gap.
Since Lang has already given his availability to Napoli, the deal is expected to be completed soon. It is now left for the Partenopei to contact PSV this week in an attempt to move closer to a final agreement.
Dutch outlet NOS (via Calciomercato.com) also reported that there is already an agreement on personal terms in place between Napoli and Lang.
The report claimed that the 26-year-old has already ‘said yes’ to a long-term deal, which is expected to be a five-year contract. The deal will also earn the Dutchman around €2.5m per season in wages over that period.
Meanwhile, Napoli could sell Simeone, who expires next summer.
According to SkySport, Antonio Conte’s side may be willing to cash in on the player this summer.
The former Genoa striker has been playing a-bit-part role in the team as Romelu Lukaku is the preferred starter.
Sevilla’s new head coach, Matias Almeyda, reportedly wants to bring Simeone to Spain, having worked with the player at Banfield back in 2015.
Since this is just interest, formal negotiations are expected to begin for the Argentine if the interest is still maintained by the La Liga side.
Simeone initially joined Napoli on loan in 2022 before the club exercised their option to buy the player the following year.
Simeone scored just two goals and assisted two in 33 Serie A appearances last summer that saw the Pertonopei win the Serie A. He has scored 14 goals and assisted four in 103 games for the club.
