Parker rues Fulham missed chances against Chalton

Fulham manager is ruing the missed opportunities of his side in a stalemate game against Charlton on Wednesday night. The Whites were forced to a drawn by the host at the Valley Park despite creating a lot of scoring chances.

The London club started brightly and dominated proceedings in large part of the first interval with Bobby Decordova-Reid going close on numerous occasions while the hosts sit back to wait on hitting their visitors on the counter, which reduced their chances of scoring in the other end of the field.
With Fulham failing to take their chances due to a lack of cutting edge in front of goal, the match ended goalless.

Although frustrated with the outcome of the game, Parker quickly focused on the positives and praised his sides for their defensive strength and passion.
He further noted that his lads would have left with the maximum points if they had taken their chances, adding that there were two massive chances in the second half, but the team failed to take them.

Feeling a bit disappointed for not getting the needed three-point despite a good game, Parker is, however, happy to get his third clean sheet in a row. He added that since his team couldn’t win and didn’t a loss either, it was the most significant positive for them.

While reminiscing on the games, they have played well this season, and got hit on the break and lost; Parker lauded his lads for being very solid.

On the injury crisis the team is facing, especially with its main man, Mitrovic, he said his team was playing wide most of the time due to lack of a poacher in the mold of the Serbian striker, who would have given them some attacking flair and something off the cuff.

Praising his lads for their commitment, Parker expressed his delight saying he can not fault their effort in the game.

While stating that Charlton was fighting for their lives and playing for a draw, Parker said he knew that the match was going to come down to one chance, but Fulham weren’t clinical with their chances, adding that those chances missed would have been taken on another day and they would have come away with a win.

Parker is still hoping that some of the injured key players, which include Aboubakar Kamara, Neeskens Kebano, Anthony Knockaert, and Aleksandar Mitrovic, could be fit to face Huddersfield Town after playing Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup.
