PSG set for departure of Lee Kang-in

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to sell Lee Kang-in next summer.

Reports in France say the European champions have set the price for a potential transfer of the 25-year-old playmaker. Sky Sports says the Paris club want at a minimum of €40 million for the attacker.

This is a significant amount given the value and potential of the South Korean international, who has scored 11 goals in 44 appearances for the club.

He is on the sights of La Liga side Atlético Madrid. Having had a stint with Valencia CF, the South Korean would not be opposed to the idea of returning to La Liga.

According to reports, his agent recently travelled to the Spanish capital to meet with the Colchoneros‘ management and discuss the outlines of a potential future agreement.

If an agreement is reached with the La Liga side, Atletico will then have to reach an agreement with PSG to finalise the deal.

Although Atlético would like to secure Kang-in’s services, PSG, according to reports, may not really consider letting the Incheon native leave. Thus, they might offer him a new contract in a bid to extend his current deal, which expires in June 2028.

He has played a bit-part role in the squad, playing 29 games across all competitions. He is seen as a rotation player by Luis Enrique.

The left-footed player, who has also contributed three goals and four assists, will have to decide in the summer whether to either remain an alternative in the midfield for Enrique or move away from the club.

If he really wants to remain with the Ligue 1 giants and wants first-team football, he would have to discuss with the gaffer and then up his game, as he is currently behind the pecking order in the midfield and the wings, which he could play.
