Paris Saint-Germain are going to be without their playmaker Vitinha for at least a week.
This follows an update given by the European champions on the injury sustained by the Portugal international during their 2-1 defeat against Olympique Lyon at the Parc des Princes in the Ligue 1.
The defeat reduced PSG’s lead on the summit to a point, although it has a game in hand.
Vitinha, who injured his right heel against Lyon on Sunday, will therefore miss the Ligue 1 games against Nantes and Angers.
According to the information released by the Ligue 1 giant, the Portuguese player was suffering from “inflammation of his right heel” and would be receiving treatment “in the coming days.”
This has also cast doubt on his participation against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semifinal first leg.
Vitinha was forced off early on Sunday evening and will remain under medical care for the next few days. Further assessment will be carried out at the end of the week.
This means that his availability will depend on how he feels in the coming days, and the medical and coaching staff will also decide.
Vitinha has been an ever-important part of the Luis Enrique squad. Although other players like Warren Zaïre-Emery and Fabian Ruiz can slot in his absence, it will definitely be felt.
Although the capital club didn’t seem to doubt their midfielder’s availability for the first leg of the semi-final against Bayern Munich on April 28th, anything could happen.

The only real certainties in this area concern Zaïre-Emery, who has started 40 consecutive games before the Lyon match, and Joao Neves, who was exhausted after his game in Liverpool.
