Las Palmas’ night went from bad to worse in the 64th minute when Benito Ramírez was sent off for a high challenge on Lucas Vázquez. Real Madrid had several more chances to score but were denied by offside calls and impressive saves from Cillessen. The win marked Real Madrid’s first 90-minute victory in three competitive matches.

Las Palmas, on the other hand, have suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time under their current manager.
