Arsenal have secured the long-term future of forward Bukayo Saka, confirming on Thursday that the 24-year-old has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2031.
The England international, who joined Arsenal’s academy in 2008, has grown into one of the team’s most influential players under manager Mikel Arteta. Over the past eight seasons, Saka has developed from a promising academy graduate into a central figure in the squad, amassing 79 goals in 297 appearances for the Gunners.
This season, Saka has contributed eight goals and five assists across all competitions as Arsenal chase silverware on multiple fronts. The club currently sit top of the Premier League table and have advanced to the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League. They are also through to the fifth round of the FA Cup and have reached the final of the EFL Cup, keeping hopes alive for a memorable campaign.
Despite that progress, Arsenal’s league form has shown signs of strain in recent weeks. The North London side have taken 10 points from their last seven matches, a run that has slightly slowed their momentum at the top of the table.
Saka himself has experienced fluctuations in form. The winger recently ended a 15-match goal drought when he found the net in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The goal marked a personal milestone after a challenging spell in front of goal, though his broader impact on matches has varied in recent months.
Even so, the new contract signals Arsenal’s confidence in Saka’s long-term importance to the team. His journey from academy prospect to senior leader reflects both his consistency and durability, having remained a regular presence across multiple seasons and competitions.
With Arsenal competing on four fronts and aiming to maintain their position at the summit of English football, Saka’s renewed commitment offers stability at a crucial stage of the campaign. The club will hope that the forward’s latest goal sparks a strong finish to the season as they pursue success at home and in Europe.
