Serie A: Juve-Inter clash, others to be played behind closed doors

The Derby d’Italia between Juventus and Inter Milan, which was postponed last week due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus in Italy, will be played this weekend behind closed doors.

The match is the top of table clas with six pints separating Juve from Inter with the Nerrazurri having two games in hand.

If not for the deadly virus that has left over ten people dead in Italy, the derby won’t be a quiet one as it will be witnessed on Sunday.

To avoid congested fixtures, they had decided that the games be played behind closed doors as the season draws to an end gradually.

Lazio is on top of the log after a win over Bologna because their game was allowed to go on.

Juve will be looking to win the clash to return to the summit and widen the gap between them and one of the title contenders.

Juve has been struggling to get convincing results, especially against opponents that counter their tactics. They had faltered against Napoli that has also had an indifferent season despite the change in manager.

His Inter Milan counterpart has been able to pass his message across to his players during the summer. They looked like a rejuvenated side under Antonio Conte. The partnership between Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku has been phenomenal, with both strikers sharing double figures of goals.

Martinez was rested against Ludogorets in the return leg of the Europa League. His freshness will be a headache for the Juve backline, while the playmaker, Christian Eriksen, is expected to begin the game from the bench again.

While Stefano Sensi and Roberto Gagliardini are still out injured, goalkeeper Samir Handanovic will reportedly be back in between the sticks.

Other games that will be played during the weekend are Milan versus Genoa at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, while Parma hosts Spal at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Resurgent Sampdoria will welcome Hellas Verona to Stadio Luigi Ferraris, while Brescia goes to Mapei Stadium to face in-form Sassuolo. Udinese will also battle Fiorentina.
