United Beats Spurs on Mourinho’s Return To Old Trafford

Former Manchester United Coach, Jose Mourinho returned to the Old Trafford on Wednesday night as Tottenham faced Manchester United in an English premier league game.

The return started badly for Tottenham Hotspur, and Jose Mourinho as his team conceded in the first 10 minutes of the game as Marcus Rashford scored the opening goal however Dele Alli continued his good run of form to equalise for Spurs just a few minutes before half-time

Just four minutes into the second half, Manchester United regained their lead as they were awarded a penalty after Moussa SISSOKO fell a United player in the box.

Marcus Rashford did not make any mistake as Spurs’ second-choice goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga went the wrong way to score his second of the night.

Thus Manchester United has ended Jose Mourinho winning streak since joining the club last month although it is the Red Devils first win in four games and 2 in 5.

For Tottenham, it is their first loss in seven games and has won three of their last five games; the result is a disappointing one for Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

By virtue of the win, Manchester United are now sixth on the log with 21 points from 15 games.

While Tottenham are in eight with 20 points from the same number of games

Up next for United is the Manchester derby against Manchester City on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium

Tottenham, on their own, will host Burnley at the White Hart Lane on the same day. Coincidentally, both City and Burnley faced each other in their last game in the midweek with city thrashing Burnley 4-1

Later on Thursday, it will be Arsenal at home at the Emirates stadium against Brighton while Newcastle will travel to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United with a hope to get a win against a team that has become the surprise package of the English Premier League this season.
