Villarreal, Granada hit big wins in Copa Del Rey fixtures against lower league sides

 

Villarreal scored eight goals as they ended their three games winless run with a ruthless 8-0 victory against Victoria FC on Tuesday evening. The Yellow Submarines were held to a 1-1 draw in the La Liga, before losing 2-0 to Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League and another 3-1 defeat to Barcelona in the La Liga at the weekend.

The Copa del Rey offered a chance at get off some of the pressure of recent poor results, and the expected win against Victoria FC didn’t take long before the goals started pouring in. Alberto Moreno scored the first of his brace in the 17 minutes before adding another five minutes later.

Aissa Mandi and Paco Alcacer made it 4-0 in the first half while Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze scored his second goal in two matches with a strike five minutes after the break. Gerard Moreno Boulaye Dia and Nikita Losifov then completed the rout

Meanwhile, Granada also took a break from a three-match unbeaten run with a huge 7-0 unbeaten against Laguna in the Copa del Rey. Carlos Bacca opened the scoring as early as the 9th minute of the game before Adrian Butzke scored a hattrick while Antonio Puertas scored one as substitute Jorge Molina scored a late brace.

Marc Mateu and Kevin scored in the second half as Huesca beat Cayon 2-0, Rayo Valladolid were 1-0 winners against Marchamalo. Also top flight side Alaves scored three late goals to beat Unami Cp 3-0.

La Liga sides Real Sociedad, Sevilla and Solares will be in action against Panaderia, Cordoba and Solares on Wednesday.

Today, Real Madrid will face Athletic Bilbao in their outstanding match. Real Madrid won Sevilla in their last fixture, with Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior both getting on the score sheet. Carlo Ancelotti’s side currently lead the La Liga table with 33 points from 14 games.
