Rafael Nadal feels that 21 Grand Slams won’t be enough to end his career with the highest Majors in tennis history

Rafael Nadal scripted history when he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the finals of the Australian Open. He became the first in the Men’s Singles category in the Open era to bag 21 Grand Slam titles. However, the Spaniard feels that the haul of 21 Grand Slam won’t be enough for him to finish with the most Grand Slam in tennis history.

Nadal reached the milestone ahead of his rivals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, who are still with 20 Majors and both did not feature in the recently concluded Australian Open.

Nadal recently called a press conference at the Rafael Nadal Academy in Manacor, Spain. There the Spaniard highlighted how ending up with the most number of Grand Slams does not intrigue him that much.

Instantly he stated that he does not feel 21 Grand Slams will be enough to end with the ost Majors in history.

“Do I want to be the one out of the 3 to end with more GS? Yes, I’d love that. Am I obsessed with it? Not at all. I don’t think 21 Grand Slams will be enough to end up being the one with most Major titles.”

Nadal fans have been very active on social media and ae letting everyone know that Nadal is the designated GOAT as he achieved the 21st Major before Djokovic or Federer.

“The debate about the best in history is totally understandable because it generates fans, but internally I live it in a different way, naturally and as always with the intention of making my way without thinking about what’s next,” the World No.5 added.

Speaking about his future, Nadal points out how fitness will be of prime importance and the major gauging factor in deciding whether he will feature in events or not. For now, Nadal has highlighted that he will play the Acapulco Open scheduled later this month and also the Indian Wells Masters scheduled early March.

The clay season will be crucial for the 35-year-old as he aims to win the Roland Garros continuing his winning streak.

“I have to see how my body responds in the next few days & then we’ll analyze things calmly. [As of now] my schedule is Acapulco and then Indian Wells,” Nadal said. “I’d say I’ll be in Indian Wells as long as there is no problem. As far as Acapulco is concerned, there’s time as it’s in 2 weeks time, but we have to see.”
