Jannik Sinner beat Alexander Zverev 6–1, 6–2 to win the Mutua Madrid Open in just 58 minutes, adding another milestone to his achievements. 

The Italian has now become the first man to win five consecutive Masters 1,000 titles. 

The result was one-sided from the start. Sinner broke early and never allowed Zverev to settle. 

By the midpoint of the match, the pattern was already clear, with short points on serve, relentless depth from the baseline, and constant pressure on return. 

Zverev found it almost impossible to build any rhythm, while Sinner moved through games with minimal resistance.

This win pushes Sinner into the record books, as he moves past the previous mark of four back-to-back Masters 1,000 titles held by Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. 

It also completes a clean sweep of the season’s opening Masters events, Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, and Madrid, something no player has managed before.

The numbers around his run are just as strong. The Madrid title is his ninth at Masters level and the 28th of his career. 

His current winning streak extends beyond 20 matches, and he has dropped very few sets across that stretch. Week after week, the level has held, regardless of surface or opponent.

Madrid itself had been one of the few gaps in his collection. He had gone deep at other Masters events but had not lifted the trophy here until now. 

At 24, he is also ahead of schedule compared to previous eras. He has already reached finals across all Masters events and is stacking titles at a pace that puts him in rare territory.

Even so, he continues to play down comparisons with players like Roger Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal, choosing to focus on his own progress rather than play into historical debates.

The win keeps him firmly at the number one spot and strengthens his position heading into the clay stretch that leads to French Open.
