Darvin Ham shares that he has the support of Jeanie Buss amid the LA Lakers’ slump in the ongoing season

The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had the best results over the past week and there are several reports regarding Darvin Ham’s status as the Lakers coach. However, his recent comments regarding the support that he receives from team owner Jeanie Buss have somewhat changed the narrative among NBA fans.

The Lakers have not been at their best this season and before their clash against the Los Angeles Clippers, Ham was asked questions regarding his future as there was a lot of talk regarding his future at the franchise. However, Ham has cleared the air by sharing the support that he receives from owner Jeanie Buss.

“I told you, man, I’m just thankful that I’ve got that support from Jeanie, with her always encouraging me, asking me ‘What do I need? Is everything great?’” Ham said ahead of their 106-103 win over rivals Clippers.

While fans are divided after hearing his comments following Ham’s statements. Some still feel that a firing is still possible considering the poor run of games. While others are very shocked and frustrated hearing that Buss has continued to support him despite the way the Lakers are playing in recent times.

The Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers in the final of the In-Season tournament. However, since then the Lakers have struggled in the regular season. They are 10th in the Western Conference with a poor record of 18-19. They lost four out of their last five games.

Over the past month, the Lakers have a record of 4-10. Ham has made some questionable decisions regarding team selections and rotations. Therefore, many have called out for Ham’s departure.

While Buss may support Ham at the moment things may change if the Lakers continue to struggle for results. But with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the roster, the Lakers have set their sights on the title.

Many people are critical of Ham’s coaching of the Los Angeles Lakers. However, he remains unfazed amid all these controversies. Ham has faith in his team and continues to focus on the upcoming games.

Last week, Ham spoke about people zeroing in on the Lakers’ recent struggle. He is disappointed that people has already forgotten their In-Season tournament triumph earlier in the season.

“I’m tired of people living and dying with every single game we play,” Ham said. “It’s ludicrous. Actually. Like, come on, man. It’s a marathon.”

“We played some high-level games a little while ago and we just got to get back to that. We got to keep the fight going. We cannot lose our fight,” he added.
