Hall of famer Reggie Miller feels that even if the Suns lose Chris Paul will get a long pass from criticism

The Phoenix Suns veteran Chris Paul has been a journeyman in the NBA. The 36-year-old guard is a certified legend of the game even if he ends his career without an NBA championship. He has contributed largely to the Suns’ success this season and has helped a lot of young players develop over the years along the way of his illustrious career.

The last time he came a long way was in the postseason in 2018 with the Houston Rockets when Paul and others qualified for the Western Conference finals. But his hamstring injury meant that he was not available for the all-important finals.

After that miss in 201, CP3 looked determined this season as Monty Williams and his men made history by qualifying for the NBA Finals. The Suns took a commanding 2-0 lead in the series against the Bucks and CP3 was confident that this time he would be able to win the ring. However, the Milwaukee Bucks came back into the series and Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped a masterclass to help the Bucks get on board. From there it was all Bucks as they have simply taken charge of the situation and have allowed the momentum to guide them to glory. The Bucks are currently a win away from clinching the NBA Championships and Chris Paul’s win may have to wait a little longer.

If the Suns lose there will be criticism and questions asked mainly on how they managed to fizzle out under pressure despite taking a 2-0 lead. However, a lot of people believe that even if the Suns get trolled or criticised, Chris Paul will not be done any such thing and instead he will be given the long pass.

Therefore Indian Pacers legend Reggie Miller feels that Chris Paul’s performances even at the age of 36 will earn him plaudits and will also save him from criticism. He said, “I think Chris Paul will probably get a pass because of his age and because of the hard knocks that’s taken Chris Paul to even get to the NBA Finals.”

Reggie further added – “I’m not saying it’s going to be his last look at it. But, he will get a long pass because of the signature games along the way. I think people will remember those more as opposed to, ‘He has just not played great in the finals.”

However for now Monty Williams’ men have to win Game 6 to force Game 7 and for that, they need their veteran guard Chris Paul to perform at his best.
