It was a much-needed win: Steve Kerr after beating Denver Nuggets

Golden State Warriors defeated Denver Nuggets by 113-102 on Thursday night to register their second win on the trot. Nuggets had recently bested the Dubs by 131-124 and thus the GSW was able to avenge their loss.

The team’s talisman Stephen Curry scored 34 points to lead his team to a fine win. In fact, the Dubs went on a 13-0 run in the fourth quarter to get over the line. Furthermore, Jordan Poole had 21 points, and Jonathan Kuminga and Klay Thompson added 18 each for the Warriors. This is GSW’s first win of the season against the Denver Nuggets this season.

In fact, Denver Nuggets had a nine-point advantage at half-time but GSW was able to bounce back stronger in the last two quarters. Warriors outscored their opponents by 37-24 in the third quarter and then took the last quarter by 25-18 to seal the deal.

The team’s head coach Steve Kerr was delighted with the performance of his team, especially in the last 24 minutes of play.

“It was a great second half, terrible first half, so I’m proud of the way the guys responded,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “It was a much-needed win and hopefully we can put together a little streak here.

“The first half, we were taking lousy shots. I’m going to continue to stress to all of our guys, including Klay, got to get good shots. It gives our games a balance. We have about 15 games left and we have to get better from here.”

On the other hand, Jordan Poole gave credit to the collective effort of the team and also their defensive play in the final quarter.

“We just stuck with it,” Poole said. “We fought the entire 48, a lot of guys stepped up. We were really able to lock in on the defensive end in the fourth quarter.”

GSW will look to continue the good show and they will next face Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.
