Utah Jazz Gets Cleared Of Coronavirus

Two weeks ago, the 2020 NBA season was suspended after a player tested positive to the coronavirus a few minutes before the match was to start.

The Utah Jazz were about to face Oklahoma City Thunder and it was about to begin like every normal NBA game before it was discovered that Rudy Gobert had contracted the highly contagious virus.

The finding led to the cancellation of the game and the immediate suspension of the NBA season. Before that time, there had been contemplation on when to halt the game as the virus was already rapidly spreading around the world and sporting events was one way it could be spread. That led to the suspension of football activities and other sports across Europe.

The suspension of basketball games made other sports follow suit to control the spread of the disease. The next day after Gobert tested positive, his fellow teammate Donovan Mitchell’s results also came back as positive.

Although he later said he was not feeling any of the symptoms associated with the virus, even when he was in isolation. The entire Utah Jazz team, players and well as staff, had to observe mandatory isolation.

Now, at a time when good news is needed more than ever, all Utah players and staff have been cleared free of the virus and no longer pose a threat to anybody.

The confirmation, which was done by the Utah Department of Health on Friday showed that after participating in the isolation and quarantine period, they were all free of signs and symptoms of the virus.

The players would still have to practice social distancing as much as they can and spend enough time indoors as stipulated by the NBA and laws around the state.

This is to try and limit the spread of the virus as much as possible and not to put other people at risk. The NBA season is suspended, with some players still positive, but recovering, as the United States tries to bring the spread of the virus under control.
