Fury teases fans with business meeting

Tyson Fury’s recent appearance alongside his father, John Fury, heading to a business meeting, has sparked fresh speculation that the former heavyweight champion is preparing to step out of retirement once again. 

The 36-year-old posted a short video on social media showing the two en route to the meeting, teasing that something was “incoming,” which fans and critics alike interpret as a sign of a potential comeback to the boxing ring.

Fury’s announcement of retirement in January followed his second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, who had taken the undisputed heavyweight title from him. 

Despite declaring he was done with boxing, Fury’s history suggests that his retirements have often been temporary pauses rather than permanent farewells. In 2022, he retired briefly before returning to win a trilogy fight against Derek Chisora later that year.

The timing of this business meeting, combined with Fury’s recent social media activity and physical condition, has fueled rumors that he is gearing up for a high-profile return. Observers note that Fury appears to be in impressive shape, resembling the physique he had during his prime years, which hints at serious training and preparation. 

This transformation has led to speculation that he might be negotiating a lucrative fight, most likely against fellow British heavyweight Anthony Joshua, a matchup long discussed within the boxing community.

Joshua, who is recovering from elbow surgery and is expected to return to the ring later this year, remains the most talked-about potential opponent.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has publicly urged Fury to confirm his intentions and make the fight happen, stressing that both fighters are major stars who could draw massive attention and revenue.

The idea of a Fury-Joshua bout is particularly enticing given their status and the financial rewards involved, which may exceed $100 million for the winner.

Insiders believe that Fury’s “business meeting” with his father could be related to finalising terms for such a fight or exploring other lucrative opportunities. Fury’s net worth is already estimated at around $160 million, but a comeback involving a fight with another big name could significantly increase his earnings before he retires again.
