Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is reportedly exploring a move away from the club this summer, sparking speculation after missing out on the team’s pre-season tour of Asia.
Officially, the club stated that the Sweden international was left out of the 30-man squad due to a minor thigh injury. However, sources suggest that top European clubs are monitoring his situation, with Liverpool maintaining interest despite recently acquiring Hugo Ekitike for £69m from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Isak, who joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 for around £60m, enjoyed a prolific 2024–25 season, scoring 27 goals in 42 appearances. Despite his success, his omission from recent fixtures, including the 4-0 pre-season loss to Celtic, and growing transfer rumours have raised questions about his future.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe had initially claimed Isak would “absolutely” be part of the Asia tour squad, but the forward’s continued absence has only added fuel to the speculation.
The Magpies remain adamant that Isak is not for sale and have valued the 25-year-old at a staggering £130m. With three years left on his current contract and the club backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, Newcastle are under no financial pressure to sell.

Chelsea, having already added Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, also appear unlikely to pursue another major signing in that position this summer.
