Barcelona’s Gavi sends message after undergoing knee surgery

Barcelona midfielder Gavi has issued a defiant message to supporters after undergoing another knee surgery that will sideline him for approximately five months.

The 21-year-old, who only recently returned from an ACL injury, faces another long road to recovery but remains determined to return stronger.

The Spain international shared an update from his hospital bed, where he was visited by teammates Pedri, Ronald Araujo, and Lamine Yamal.

In his post, he stressed his commitment to Barcelona, writing that those who know him understand he will return no matter how long it takes.

He added that a true champion is forged not in moments of success, but in rising again after setbacks, and thanked fans for their messages of support.

Reports suggest Gavi has been left devastated by the latest injury blow, especially given how much effort he put into recovering from his previous long-term layoff.

However, his social media message highlights the midfielder’s trademark resilience and determination to overcome adversity once more.

The injury comes as a significant setback for both Barcelona and Gavi, who has been an important figure in the squad since breaking into the first team as a teenager.

His absence will be felt in midfield, particularly with the team facing a congested calendar in both domestic and European competitions.

Support from teammates has already begun pouring in, with his fellow players rallying around him during this difficult moment.

Pedri, Araujo, and Yamal’s hospital visit underscored the sense of unity within the squad as they look forward to welcoming him back in the months ahead.

While Gavi faces yet another lengthy spell on the sidelines, his defiant message suggests he is ready to face the challenge.

Fans will now hope that his recovery goes smoothly, allowing the young midfielder to once again play a central role for Barcelona upon his return.
