FC Bayern Munich are reportedly exploring options to strengthen their right-back position, with the Bundesliga giants increasingly casting their net towards the Croatian market in search of emerging talent. 

The German record champions have been closely monitoring Hajduk Split defender Luka Hodak, a highly rated young player who has drawn attention from several European clubs.

A Bayern scout was recently in attendance at Hajduk’s home fixture against NK Osijek, where the 20-year-old was the primary focus of observation. 

Hodak, a graduate of Hajduk’s well-regarded academy, has made a successful transition into the first-team squad. 

Primarily operating as a right-back, he has also earned call-ups to the Croatian under-21 national team, further highlighting his rapid development and potential.

Interest from outside Croatia underscores the progress Hodak has achieved in recent seasons. 

According to reports, Dutch side Feyenoord have also been tracking the full-back and have already dispatched their own scouts to evaluate him in action. Polish club Raków Częstochowa have similarly been linked with an interest in the promising defender.

Hajduk acted proactively to protect their asset before external interest intensified. The club secured Hodak on a long-term contract running until 2029, viewing the academy product as a key figure in their future plans. 

As a result, any departure would require substantial consideration and is unlikely to be approved lightly.

A move to Bayern Munich does not appear imminent. Interest in Hodak first surfaced towards the end of 2025, when it was indicated that a transfer in the summer of 2026 was not under active discussion.

Nevertheless, the recent presence of a Bayern representative at Hajduk’s match confirms that the young Croatian remains on the radar at Säbener Straße. 

The club continues to monitor his performances as it assesses potential reinforcements for its defensive options in the seasons ahead.
