Bonucci: Juventus now working more as a team since Ronaldo left

Juventus centre back, Leonardo Bonucci has said that the Turin giant have rediscovered their spirit and humility after securing a 1-0 win away to Zenit.

He added that they now working as a team Cristiano Ronaldo has left.

Ronaldo had left the Bianconerri for Manchester United, his old club, and he appears to be having a fulfilled season. He was among the scorers against impressive Atalanta that lost to the Red Devils 3-2.

Juventus continued their 100 percent record in the Champions League with a goal coming from substitute, Dejan Kulusevski. The Swedish forward nodded in Mattia De Sciglio’s cross during the final minutes.

Speaking with Sky Sport Italia, he said it was a tough game, as the hosts clammed up in defence once they lost the ball.

Bonucci, who won the Man of the Match award by UEFA in St Petersburg described the honour as an important trophy, adding that the team know how to win games.

While noting that Juve suffered over the last few days.

Meanwhile, the 1-0 results make it Juve’s fourth consecutive between Serie A and the Champions League.

As it stands, the Bianconeri become group leaders with a perfect record going into St Petersburg.

Bonucci admitted that the former champions in the recent past, have lost that characteristic of Juve.

Now that the Zenith clash has come and gone, Juventus will be getting set for the big match against the current champions, Inter Milan this weekend.

The Nerazzurri were beaten by Lazio 3-1 last week.

So, they will be looking to return to winning ways. Doing this against Juve will be a huge statement.

Juventus are currently 7th on the long, ten points behind the leaders Napoli while Inter is third with 17 points.
