Brazilian fullback Alex Telles pledges his future to Manchester United and also vows to be a better version of himself after an underwhelming season at Old Trafford.
The Brazilian left back has been the second fiddle to Luke Shaw in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plan. However, Telles is focused to work even harder as he has only managed to feature in 24 appearances for the Red Devils which also includes only eight starts in the Premier League.
Telles is ready to fight for a spot against Luke Shaw who has been a key member of Solskjaer’s squad. But the former FC Porto fullback is confident that he will have a more prominent role at Old Trafford next season.
The 28-year-old recently opened up on his experiences at the club and also expressed his hopes for the next season. “Yes, I believe I’ve made the most of this season,” the Brazilian started.
“I’ve learnt a great deal, I learnt a lot of things, I’ve developed as a player and a person as well. I’m really happy with my first season at United and I’m sure that next season will be even better.”
Telles admits that he has given his best whenever he has payed and the whole adaptation process has not been easy. He added, “I think I always took the opportunity to do my best whenever I was on the pitch. I had good games, with the adaptation process the first season isn’t easy, but I believe that when Ole gave me the opportunity and placed his trust in me and put me on the pitch, I did my best.
“I’m sure that I’ll continue doing even better to spend more time on the pitch and get a lot more minutes.”
Telles is a modern fullback who supports the team in a lot of attacking play. He scored 26 goals along with 57 assists but has failed to find the target even once for United.
The Brazilian is eager to break the jinx soon and open his account for the Red Devils. “I really want to score my first goal, I can’t wait.
“I scored a lot of goals previously at Porto and now I’m really looking forward to playing and scoring my first goal.”
