Conte to leave Napoli after Scudetto success

Antonio Conte will be leaving Napoli after securing their second Scudetto in 33 years.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the former Juventus manager and Napoli have decided to part ways after winning the league title on the last day.

This decision will be confirmed after a meeting on Tuesday.

The Partenopei won the Serie A title on Friday evening after a 2-0 win against Cagliari at the Diego Maradona Stadium. It has been celebrations all weekend, with an open-top bus parade planned in the city streets on Monday.

It was gathered that there will be a meeting with the Pope on Tuesday, after which the decisive summit will take place.

According to reports, Conte had decided days ago to return to Juventus where he also enjoyed success.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis had been dropping multiple hints that Conte wants to leave Partonopei, and Sky Sport Italia is now confident it will not continue together.

His decision could have been related to the January departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain. The coach expressed his displeasure over the failure to adequately replace Georgia International and the lack of progress in improving the training facilities.

Conte had also complained about the state of the training pitches, adding that it’s responsible for the number of muscular injuries his players sustained this season.

Napoli seem to have prepared his replacement due to the speculation surround his future at the club. Partonopei reportedly secured the signing of Max Allegri, another former Juventus manager who is also wanted by Milan.

From the look of things Conte might end his relationship with Napoli and return to Juventus – a report seems to have been confirmed by many quarters.

Conte seems to be keen on returning to the Juventus stadium, where he enjoyed success locally.

During his three-year stint with the Bianconerri, Conte won three Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia.
