This is the third transfer window in a row that the Bianconerri find themselves discussing a potential deal with Paris Saint-Germain for the striker.
They therefore face an uphill battle if they are to lure the Frenchman away from his current loan spell with Tottenham.
Juventus had prioritised the striker role in Luciano Spalletti’s ranks for most of the winter transfer window, even though Jonathan David has begun to hit form in Turin.
The Canadian international is obviously not considered the right profile to be a line-leading no.9 for Juventus, nor is Lois Openda.
However, Dusan Vlahovic, who has the profile, is out injured long-term.
This has led the Bianconeri to be linked with moves for several strikers in January, including the likes of Joshua Zirkzee, Federico Chiesa, Beto, and Mateo Pellegrini.
They almost signed Fenerbahce’s Youssef En-Nesyri after reaching an agreement with Fenerbahce, but the deal had stalled as the Morocco international did not want to move to Turin on what could turn out to be just a short-term loan deal.
This made Juventus go back to the drawing board, and they are now considering a reunion with Kolo Muani.
Kolo Muani had last winter joined Juventus on a straight loan deal from PSG and went on to average a goal every other game during his short spell in Turin, netting eight times from 16 league appearances in the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
Juentus were keen to bring the Frenchman back after making such a strong impression in a short stint, but their loan deal didn’t include an option to buy, and the fact that PSG invested around €90m to sign the player in 2023 meant that negotiations were not particularly straightforward.
After months of negotiations, Juventus were unable to reach an agreement with the European champions.
After tendering another loan proposal with a potential obligation to buy, those attempts were unsuccessful, which led to Kolo Muani joining Tottenham, again on a straight loan deal, on the final day of the summer transfer window.
PSG wanted at least around €60m for the striker they had coughed out €90m to sign him from Eintracht Frankfurt a few years ago.
However, it was reported that Juventus attempted to include an obligation to buy for €30m with €10m in bonuses if the Bianconeri qualified for the Champions League, an attempted change in strategy that left PSG feeling infuriated.
Due to the breakdown in negotiations over the summer, relations between Juventus and PSG are said not to be at their best, which makes a deal in January slightly complicated.
Another challenge they face is that Tottenham are unwilling to sanction any exit until the end of the transfer window, unless they can line up replacements.
Although Juventus had reportedly contacted the relevant parties, the latest reports claimed that there had been a new round of talks on Tuesday afternoon as well.
