Juventus plot double swoop at Napoli

Juventus are planning to have Antonio Conte as their manager and Victor Osimhen as a striker next summer.

According to the latest reports from Italy, Conte and Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis will sit down and discuss their future together once the Serie A season comes to an end.

After the appointment of Igor Tudor on an interim basis, Juventus are still reviewing options over the appointment of a new, permanent head coach once the 2024-25 season comes to an end.

Igor Tudor, who replaced Thiago Motta in March, is on a contract until the end of the FIFA Club World Cup, which will run from mid-June to mid-July.

Tudor needs a win to secure Champions League qualification, while Conte is one win away from securing the Serie A title in his first season in charge of Napoli.

However, reports have emerged in Italy that Conte could be interested in a return to Juventus once the 2024-25 season is wrapped up.

It was earlier reported by Alfredo Pedulla and Calciomercato.com that De Laurentiis had already met with another former Juventus head coach in Massimiliano Allegri, who is one of the prime candidates to take over should Conte leave for Turin.

Monday’s reports say that De Laurentiis and Conte are due to sit down at the end of the season to discuss their respective plans for the future.

Before the appointment of a new manager, Juventus are expected to hold a management meeting in June to discuss their plans for the 2025-26 season and the summer transfer market.

Reports have it that Juventus appreciate the efforts made by Tudor over the last two months, but that they would be prepared to sign Conte if he becomes available.

According to the latest updates, the Bianconerri are keen on making it a ‘double-deal’ with Napoli, as they also hope to pull off a deal for Osimhen, who has been on loan at Galatasaray from the Partenopei in 2024-25.

The Nigerian striker has already scored 27 goals for the Turkish side and currently top the league goals scoring chart. He also led them to their 19th Turkish Cup success last week.

Partonopei are expected to sell the Nigerian international in the summer transfer window, with a €75m release clause valid for teams outside of Serie A.

Meanwhile,  Juventus are reportedly willing to go above and beyond the release clause in Osimhen’s Napoli deal to convince the Partenopei to sell him to them and not to a team abroad.

The Napoli President is known to be a strict businessman and would want to make huge cash from the sales of the striker.

Selling him to a rival will be a tall order, which Laurentiis may not sanction.
