Kylian Mbappe officially joins Real Madrid

Real Madrid have a finally got their hands on French striker Kylian Mbappe who has signed a contract with the newly crowned UEFA champions League winners.

The Los Blancos won their 15th UEFA Champions League title on Saturday, and they added another trophy to it on Sunday after signing the French forward, who becomes a free agent this summer.

Mbappé had already agreed to join Real Madrid in a verbal agreement in February, he then announced his imminent departure from PSG in May just before helping them to win the French League title.

The 25 year old will be officially unveiled by Real Madrid at a later date which could be before the UEFA Euros in Germany or after but Mbappé’s contract with Real Madrid would commence on July 1.

Mbappe spent seven years at PSG after joining them in 2017 from AS Monaco, becoming their record goalscorer with 256 goals. 

At the national level, Kylian Mbappe won the FIFA World Cup for France in 2018 at the 2018 world Cup in Russia before leading them to another world cup final at the 2022 FIFA world Cup in Qatar where France finished second behind Argentina.

While Real Madrid won the UEFA champions League on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley stadium his attention will be on the UEFA euros championships in Germany starting from mid June. France will face Austria, Poland and the Netherlands in group D.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid completed their record fifteenth UEFA Champions League title with a 2-0 win over Dortmund. After surviving a tormenting first half from the Yellow and Blacks, Dani Carvajal scored with less than 20 minutes left on the clock before vinicius Junior finished off the game. It is the fifth time that Carlo ancelotti will win the competition in his career and he completes a double for the La Liga champions.
