AC Milan have been given an injury boost as Rafael Leao returned to group training with Milan on Thursday morning.
This means the Portuguese attacker is expected to be available for Sunday’s Serie A match against Napoli.
According to several Italian sources, including TMW, Max Allegri might introduce him later in the game as part of the process of gaining match fitness and recovery.
Leao got injured while in action from the Diabolo on August 17, suffering a calf injury in a Coppa Italia match against Bari.
This ruled out the Portuguese winger, making him unable to feature for Milan in any Serie A match so far this season.
Milan will welcome Serie A leaders Napoli to the San Siro in the next league game on Sunday, September 28.
Meanwhile, the Partenopei will also be without their star defender, Alessandro Buongiorno.
The defender suffered an adductor injury during the latest Serie A match against Pisa.
This is expected to be another top clash between the sides separated by only three points in the Serie A table.
Napoli have a hundred percent record so far in the Serie A, having won four games from four, while the Rossoneri have collected three victories and one defeat.
In a related development, Adrien Rabiot has expressed delight at being at Milan and believes Allegri’s ‘mentality’ is starting to take effect at the club.
Both, who had already established a relationship during their stint with Juventus, are already looking forward to facing the Old Lady.
The French international joined Milan on deadline day from Olympique Marseille. This made him wait until Thursday to greet the supporters at the club’s flagship store in Via Dante, where he was mobbed by celebrating fans.
He is delighted to be welcomed to the club by teammates, staff, and the fans.
Rabiot had several options after being frozen out of Marseille for a locker room brawl with then-teammate Jonathan Rowe, but opted for Milan, which allowed a reunion with his former Juventus coach Allegri.
