Leipzig confirm double injury blow ahead of coming fixtures

RB Leipzig are facing a double injury blow as they gear up for their Bundesliga clash against Wolfsburg on Saturday.

The club confirmed that right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic, aged 19, will be out for several weeks due to a stress reaction in his right knee, an injury that requires careful treatment to ensure a full recovery.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, manager Ole Werner revealed how huge a blow it is to lose yet another personnel in the defensive line.

“It’s saddening for us to lose such an important player. Kosta is a young lad with interesting qualities both on and off the pitch.

“He will be out for some few weeks for sure, and we will look forward to have him back with us soon”. He added

Summer signing Max Finkgräfe, 21, who has yet to make his debut, suffered an MCL tear in his left knee during training and is expected to return to team training after the October international break.

On a brighter note, Antonio Nusa, Romulo, Assan Ouedraogo, and Lukas Klostermann rejoined full team training on Wednesday, strengthening the squad, while Amadou Haidara made progress by completing parts of training as he recovers from muscular issues.

Despite a 6-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in their first game under new coach Ole Werner, RB Leipzig have responded with three consecutive Bundesliga wins, and ever since, Werner has emphasized the team’s attacking versatility as they hope to build on their present momentum

Meanwhile, German media reports suggest Leipzig are eyeing attacking prospects for the January transfer window to bolster their title challenge, though the club is focused on maintaining squad stability.

As Leipzig head to Wolfsburg, their returning players and recent form signal a determined push to sustain their momentum in both domestic and European competitions.
