Napoli striker yet to receive any offers from top European clubs

The latest reports from Italy say Napoli is forced to deal with an unexpected problem this summer. They have yet to receive an offer for their striker, Victor Osimhen.

Despite links with Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and more, the Partonopei are yet to receive offers for Osimhen.

The striker recently signed a massive deal that include €10m per season salary with the proviso that he would be allowed to leave this summer, a year after winning the Scudetto as Capocannoniere of Serie A.

The new deal didn’t come with an additional year, though, but a release clause was added to the contract for €120-130m to make him more valuable to suitors who are likely to come for his service after a successful Serie A season in 2023. Napoli boss, Aurelio De Laurentiis had envisaged that a Premier League club would jump at the chance to sign the Nigeria international.

However, things have not gone to plan for the Pertonopei. This could mean that the Nigerian striker may not be moving to any team this summer.

Although he would have preferred a Chelsea move the Blues already spent over 400m Pounds on transfers last season and will be looking forward to balancing their books to avoid FIFA Financial Fairplayhammer. so Napoli and Osimhen could well be stuck with each other for a little while longer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there has been interest from the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, but none of them deigned to make a genuine proposal or push deeper into negotiations.

On his part, Italian transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano said  Chelsea were never really interested in the striker, as he does not fit the profile of the striker they are looking for.

This leaves Napoli stuck as they cannot sign a replacement until they know that their current star center-forward is leaving.

Napoli will want to raise funds but will face a big financial problem next season, having failed to qualify for Europe due to their 10thplace finish in the Serie A and had no real intention of paying Osimhen €10m per season wages.
