Match Preview

This fixture is set to be arguably one of the best picks of this stage of the competition this season in the UEFA Champions League as the game is set to take off in a one-legged affair on Friday in Lisbon, Portugal.

Barcelona saw off their Italian counterparts Napoli in the knockout stages to book a quarterfinal showdown with Bayern Munich. At the same time, the Bavarians outclassed their English opponents, Chelsea, in a fashionable style to make it into the last four.

Barcelona has made a fantastic record as they strolled past the quarterfinals 13th consecutive time but failed to win the European cup since their 2015 triumph, which has taken too long or a club of their caliber.

The Spanish giants had made so many attempts at European glory with the latest failed attempt last year when they were dumped out of the competition by now Premier League champions Liverpool.

Now that they are here, they will try to make everything possible to pass every test to take a shot at the cup with the first test coming up against Bundesliga giants and champion Bayern Munich.

There will be a lot of pressure on manager Quique Setien to deliver as there seems to be a lot of uncertainty surrounding his future. The manager will have to rely on his talismanic player Lionel Messi with the supports of Suarez likewise.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, as mentioned earlier, strolled to this stage of the competition in a classy way as they outplayed, demolished, and dealt with Chelsea 7-1 on aggregates as the ever-reliable Robert Lewandowski once again showed his red hot form.

The Pole has now scored a massive 53 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions, which includes 13 goals in his seven champions league outings, and he will look to add totally when squaring up with their Spanish opponent tonight
