UCL Preview: Club Brugge vs PSG

Kick-Off Time: 20: 00 PM.
Date: Tuesday, October 22, 2019.
Venue: Jan Breydelstadion, Brugge, Belgium.

It’s Matchday three in the Champions League. Our focus today will be on Club Brugge from Belgium. The Belgium based club will be hoping to replicate the performance they displayed against Real Madrid especially in the first half last time out in Europe. Tonight, they welcome another European giant, Paris Saint-Germain to their home ground.

Taking a look at their last Champions League outing against Real Madrid, Brugge raced to a two-goal lead at half time, but the 13- times Champions League winners had to dug deep and were able to crawl back into the game, but Club Brugge still left the Bernabeu with a point which leaves them second on the log following PSG who are log leaders in Group A.

These two sides meet tonight boasts of results picked against Spanish Giants Real Madrid so far with Brugge almost picking up the vital three points in Spain while Real Madrid was comfortably getting a 3-0 victory at Parc des Princes.

Club Brugge manager Philippe Clement will have a lot on their hands today as they look to beat Thomas Tuchel’s side. To accomplish this, they must be clinical in front of goal and leave no chances as they will be punished if they fail to convert their prospects. Also, they must have to keep the likes of Angel Di Maria, Kylian Mbappe and new frontman Mauro Icardi at Bay. They also have to rely on Emmanuel Bonaventure’s trick in midfield to make a difference.

On the other hand, another victory for the Parisiens will see them stretch the lead on the log to 7 points if the other match in the group ends in a draw, setting the French side on course to another route to the knockout rounds.
Team News

Tuchel’s side will be boosted by the return of Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani who is in contention to start tonight. Also, Marco Verratti is looking to be back to the side with the absence of Idrissa Gueye, who is out with a hamstring injury. Others absent will be Julian Draxler and Thilo Kehrer.

Meanwhile, Brugge will be without Eder Balanta and Brandon Mechele and Skipper Ruud Vormer who is suspended. But they will look to bring back Percy Tau who is fit to return to the side along with Federico Ricca.
