West Ham breeze past Viborg to qualify for UEFA Europa Conference League

Premier League club side West Ham United will be included in the draws for the group stages of the UEFA Europa Conference League when it is made on Friday afternoon in Istanbul, Turkey after they defeated Viborg 3-0 on the night and 6-1 on aggregate.

West Ham United, who got a convenient 3-1 victory at home last Thursday, were able to replicate another victory in Denmark.

In the first leg Gianluca Scamacca, who joined the Hammers from Italian side Sassuolo, scored his first goal for the club, while Jarrod Bowen and Michael Antonio were also on the score sheet.

The Italian also gave the side the lead on Thursday evening when he scored as early as the 22nd minute. Said Benrahama and Tomas Soucek both added goals in the second half for the comprehensive win.

West Ham joins the four UEFA Champions League teams from England as well as Arsenal and Manchester United will feature in the UEFA Europa League.

David Moyes’s side are without a win in the Premier League this season, but they will hope to change that when they travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Saturday.

The Irons lost their first three games to Manchester City, Nottingham Forest, and Brighton last weekend.

The Hammers are the sole Premier League representative in the conference league and will know their group stage opponents on Friday.

The venue of the draw is the same as the UEFA Champions League draws on Thursday evening that saw Manchester City pitted against Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, and Copenhagen.

Chelsea got drawn against Dinamo Zagreb, RB Salzburg, and AC Milan, while Liverpool were dropped in group A alongside Ajax, Napoli, and Rangers.

Tottenham Hotspur will be facing Frankfurt, Sporting Lisbon, and Marseille.
