Former NBA player Jay Williams feels it was dirty play from Memphis star Dillon Brooks and he calls for suspension

The NBA playoffs are heating up as the Golden State Warriors are taking on the Memphis Grizzlies. After winning the first game, the Warriors looked like the favourites in this matchup but the Grizzlies stopped them in their tracks by winning the second match and levelling the series.

However, there were several talking points from Game 2 which made the headlines and were discussed by several experts.  The series already has seen two ejections in two matches. Warriors veteran Draymond Green was ejected after his flagrant 2 foul against Brandon Clarke. Following that, Dillon Brooks also played rough and his challenge broke Gary Payton II’s left-arm as he crashed out of the series. Brooks was also ejected.

While people questioned Green’s foul on Clarke as worthy of an ejection or not, the topic of Brooks was totally different. Some fans even wanted the NBA to suspend him for another game after he broke Gary Payton II’s left arm which resulted in him crashing out of the series and probably the remainder of the season.

Former NBA player Jay Williams, on ESPN’s “Keyshawn, JWill & Max,” also called for a suspension. He felt it was a dirty play from Brooks despite not having a reputation of being that kind of a player. Williams said, “Dillon Brooks should’ve been ejected in that game, and he should be suspended for another game. That’s what the NBA and Adam Silver should do.”

Williams explained how players don’t club others over the head they in fact should jump and let their bodies make the connection. So he was not very much happy with the way Dillion Brooks went for that challenge. “Dillon Brooks barely left the ground and he winds up, if you’re gonna foul somebody hard in a fastbreak, you jump and you meet them at the rim, you let your body connect with them and you try to beat it up that way but you don’t club them over the head.”

Despite all the controversies Memphis Grizzlies won Game 2 as Ja Morant was the star of the day for them as he dropped a massive 47 pointer performance helping his team win 106-101 to level the series and there is all to play for now in the upcoming matches.
