Jaylen Brown Drops 42 as Celtics Hold Off Knicks; Timberwolves Win OT Thriller in Busy NBA Night

Jaylen Brown delivered a season-high 42 points to propel the Boston Celtics to a 123-117 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday night. Shooting an efficient 16-of-24 from the field and 8-of-9 from the line, Brown notched his third 40-point performance of the season as Boston secured its fourth win in five games. Derrick White added 22 points and five assists to keep the Celtics steady down the stretch.

Despite Mikal Bridges’ late push — a career-high eight 3-pointers as part of his 35-point night — the Knicks couldn’t close the gap after cutting Boston’s lead to 119-115 with 45.5 seconds left. Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 29 points and seven rebounds, but New York’s four-game winning streak came to an end.

Raptors 121, Trail Blazers 118

Scottie Barnes led Toronto with 28 points as the Raptors opened a five-game homestand with a narrow win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Immanuel Quickley chipped in 23 points, and Toronto extended its home winning streak to eight games. Brandon Ingram scored 21 for the Raptors.
Deni Avdija posted 25 points, 14 assists, and eight rebounds in an impressive all-around effort for Portland, while Shaedon Sharpe added 23. Donovan Clingan finished with a double-double of 11 points and 11 boards as the Trail Blazers dropped their third straight.

76ers 121, Wizards 102

Tyrese Maxey powered Philadelphia with 35 points, helping the Sixers avoid what would have been their fourth loss in five outings. Jared McCain added 14, while Andre Drummond and Jabari Walker provided double-doubles.
Washington, still searching for its first back-to-back wins of the season, received 16 points from Tristan Vukcevic but couldn’t keep pace with Philadelphia’s balanced attack.

Spurs 126, Grizzlies 119

Harrison Barnes erupted for a season-high 31 points and De’Aaron Fox added 29 — including 11 in the final three minutes — to lift San Antonio past Memphis. Dylan Harper scored 15, while Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, and Jeremy Sochan each finished with double-figure contributions.
The Grizzlies’ three-game winning streak ended despite Cam Spencer’s 21 points and Jaylen Wells’ 20. Zach Edey dominated inside with 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Timberwolves 149, Pelicans 142 (OT)

Anthony Edwards exploded for 44 points as Minnesota stormed back from a 15-point third-quarter deficit to beat New Orleans in overtime. Edwards played nearly the entire game, resting only briefly in the second quarter, and hit 6-of-13 from deep. Rudy Gobert added 26 points and 13 rebounds as the Wolves secured their third straight win.

Trey Murphy III shined in his return from an elbow injury with 33 points and 15 rebounds, while Saddiq Bey added 22. Rookies Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears impressed with 21 points each, but New Orleans suffered its fourth consecutive loss.
