Lakers win NBA championship after a dominant display in Game 6

The Los Angeles Lakers won 106-93 over Miami Heat in Game 6 to claim the 2020 NBA championship.

Los Angeles Lakers successfully won the NBA Championship after a dominant display in Game 6 against underdogs Miami Heats.

Lakers coach, Coach Frank Vogel chose to start guard Alex Caruso in place of center Dwight Howard, who managed just two points in 15 minutes in Game 5. Caruso had only started just two games all season, but his inclusion was key to matching the Heat’s starting lineup.

The Heat lineup featured four perimeter players and center Bam Adebayo. However, the efficient and tough-minded Lakers subdued the Heat with their lethal speed, commitment, and discipline.

Jimmy Butler, who was exceptional in Games 3 and 5, could not engage the same ferocious attacks that had aided the Heat’s wins and finished Game 6 with 12 points and eight rebounds. Butler had scored all 12 of his free throws in Game 5 but missed two in the first half in Game 6, which clearly points to

While Bam Adebayo, who was the main outlet of offensive play in the Eastern Conference finals for Miami Heats, never got on track after he sustained a neck injury in Game 1. Duncan Robinson, who scored a whopping seven three-pointers in Game 5, was restricted to six points in the first half as the Lakers were no-nonsense and tightened their perimeter defense.

Game 6 was already over by halftime, as the Lakers took a 64-36 lead into the break. The Heat never led at any point and couldn’t shoot from anywhere on the court.

Basketball legend, LeBron James, has now won his fourth title of his incredible career and has also won it with a third different team after previously winning with Miami Heats in 2012 and 2013, the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, and now with the Lakers in 2020.

The 35-year-old forward was in terrific form throughout the game and finished with 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. He became only the second player in NBA history to win four Finals MVP awards and is joined by Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan, who won six.

The Lakers won the NBA Championship for the first time since Kobe Bryant’s fifth and final title a decade ago.
