That ‘18 LeBron James was different – JJ Reddick

LeBron James has had a glorious career so far. The upcoming season will be the 20th for James in his NBA career and he will once again look to give his best. The linchpin is known to bring his best in the big matches when it matters the most and he has been consistently doing that.

Former NBA player JJ Reddick believes that 2018 LeBron James in the postseason was different as he was at the peak of his powers. James has played 15 times in the postseason in his career and he has played in the NBA finals on 10 occasions.

James was at his best in the 2018 NBA finals against the Golden State Warriors while playing for Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James averaged 34.0 points, 10.0 assists, and 8.5 rebounds in 4 games in the 2018 NBA Finals. However, his efforts went in vain as the Dubs won by 4-0.

Moreover, James averaged 34 points, 9.1 rebounds, and nine assists per game in the 2018 NBA Playoffs. Thus, James was in beast mode for Cleveland Cavaliers throughout the 2018 playoffs.

JJ Reddick said while talking on the Old Man and the Three, “That ’18 LeBron was different. Like he willed that team. That was one of the… I don’t know what we’ll have to ask Bron someday what he thinks Peak LeBron is, but yeah, that was as impressive of a playoff runs as I’ve seen.

On the other hand, Victor Oladipo also shared his experience of what it was like to play against LeBron James in the NBA playoffs.

“They ended up beating us. It was tough. I was really upset, but you know it was a great experience to go against someone like that, you know, I’m saying? And to be matched up and like against the best player in the world and going toe-to-toe with them. Yeah, that was a different type of drug for sure.”

The Lakers will take on defending champions Golden State Warriors on 19th October.
