Ever since its inception, the NBA has seen some phenomenal talents in every generation. However, the biasedness over scorers has still remained intact among fans. People still judge players by their points scored and at the end of the day it is something that can win you matches.
Michael Jordan who is often considered as the GOAT is also known for his exceptional scoring ability and people feel that he is the best scorer in the NBA. However, a few people have fallen into a newer craze for Kevin Durant. KD has been an exceptional talent over the years. Despite his injury concerns Durant has been top notch for the Brooklyn Nets this season.
Considering KD with Jordan may have been disrespectful to the Chicago Bulls talisman. But KD’s recent exploits as a player where he almost defeated the Milwaukee Bucks remain a piece of history for the future generation of the NBA.
Durant almost single handedly guided the Nets but the Bucks were just too good and KD also missed the likes of Kyrie Irving and James Harden who have struggled throughout the season with injuries. Despite the defeat, Durant earned a lot of respect from NBA fans.
KD is often criticised for joining super teams. But that cannot be valid here because he had the other two stars injured and he carried a rather weak supporting cast against the Bucks and almost snatched them the Eastern Conference Finals.
Durant has often been compared with LeBron James but his former coach Steve Kerr compares him with Jordan. When quizzed regarding KD, the Golden State Warriors chief coach Steve Kerr shared an interesting point of view.
“He just showed he’s the most talented basketball player on earth, if not of all-time. Honestly. He’s just so gifted. I loved coaching him, and I’m looking forward to doing so again,” Kerr said.
This statement came as a shock to all those who heard it. Kerr said, “And I think he’s (Durant) more gifted, I really do. And that’s saying something, but Kevin is a different, an entirely different breed. I mean, 6-(foot)-11 with guard skills, unlimited 3-point range, passing, shot-blocking at the rim. It’s just stunning.”
While it is a little too far fetched from Kerr to compare his former Bulls teammate with his former player, Durant. It has turned into controversy for Kerr as these comparisons have never ended well.
