McGregor and Mayweather Could Meet Again Soon

Sources have revealed that former UFC champion, Conor McGregor and undefeated boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather could be up for a huge rematch soon. The news is coming almost 5 years after Mayweather defeated McGregor by a technical knockout in the 10th round of their fight. That fight marked McGregor’s first and only boxing match, and it looks like he is set for another one in the hands of Mayweather.

According to sources from Mayweather’s camp speaking with Sport Bible, both parties have agreed to fight but are now trying to settle the other finer details, such as how many rounds the fight should have. They also said that the weight of the fight is set at 155 lbs, meaning that both men would have to make the cut in time for the fight.

Part of what the source also revealed was that the fight would be an official fight, not an exhibition, with Mayweather putting his professional record on the line: “Connor will only take the fight providing Floyd is willing to put his professional record on the line – so the fight will not be an exhibition, it will be an official fight.

“It will be at 155lb. That’s what we know so far. It will be the last time Floyd ever steps in the ring, so it is not one to miss.

“The deal is very close to being done. Personal terms have been agreed on both parties. It will be one final showdown. And yes, records will be at stake.”

The first fight was successful, holding the record of the second highest pay-per-view event in history. Mayweather reportedly took home £250 million from the fight while McGregor had £100 million. Those are huge figures, and this was back in 2017. One can expect that the prize money this time around would be larger.

But it remains to be seen if the fight would even hold at all or what the conditions around the fight would be.
